Dundas Community Festival

August 25, 2005

The sixth annual Dundas Community Festival will be held Saturday, September 17th 2005 between 12:00pm and 5:00pm. The Festival is conducted through a partnership between the Fort York Food Bank (FYFB), Scadding Court Community Centre, local business and residents. The purpose of the Festival is to build community capacity and recognize community service within the Dundas West/Bathurst neighbourhood. The theme for the Festival is ‘Harvest Time – Bringing a Community Together’. Festival activities include a series of venues within Alexandra Park described as follows:

  • A ‘Children’s Zone’ including face painting, games, arts & crafts and other entertainment.
  • A ‘Stage’ with performers and speakers every 45 minutes.
  • A ‘MarketPlace’ for the community to sell/share products as well as for community agencies to set up information booths.
  • A ‘ Food Drive ’ organized by the FYFB for the community to make contributions to relieve poverty.
  • A ‘Mural Painting’ to capture the community’s ideas artistically.
