All ticket proceeds have gone to FYFB programming thanks to the generosity of sponsors who cover the cost of the party through donations of dollars, supplies, and time. Tickets can be purchased here and more information including pics of last year’s Ball are available at LuckyBall.ca.
Corporate/ Donor/ Volunteer Support Welcome!
The Lucky Ball Committee is also seeking volunteers, silent auction items, and more corporate and media sponsors. If you are able to help, please contact FYFB Director and Lucky Ball founder and Committee Chair Scott Shallow at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Where Ticket Sales Go
For context on how important the continued support means, the Lucky Ball contributes more than 20% of the FYFB’s annual cash operating budget. FYFB is a grassroots non-denominational charitable organization and one of the largest food banks serving Toronto. It is volunteer-driven, with only one paid staff member. It receives no government funding and relies on the continued support of volunteers and important contributing members and businesses of our community.
FYFB serves 1,100 clients every month, approximately 15% of whom are children. The typical client survives on $3 per day after housing costs. In 2015, thanks to 25,000 volunteer service hours, FYFB served 33,000 hot meals, provided 21,000 food baskets, and supported more than 75 client cases each month. Help us make 2016 more successful!

FYFB Again Receives Top Rating among Canadian Charities
Charity Intelligence has rated FYFB as one of its top charities once again, and included it as one of 10 recipients in Canada of a new fund that pools donations and delivers them to high impact charities.
The new Canadian Charity Impact Fund is focused on charities that deliver a high “Social Return on Investment”, a ratio that measures the amount of value created per dollar donated. For more information on the fund, click here.
"We found this group of 10 organizations in Canada that were producing $9 of social benefit for every dollar invested — far above the average," noted Kate Bahen, managing director at Charity Intelligence, in an interview with the CBC.
In 2015, FYFB earned Charity Intelligence’s highest 4-Star rating for excelling in financial transparency, accountability to donors and cost-efficiency. The organization has received a top rating for multiple consecutive years.
Charity Intelligence researches Canadian charities for donors with its website providing reports on over 600 Canadian charities. The organization estimates that these 600 charities receive more than half the $15 billion Canadians support charities with each year.
Each report is a brief overview of the charity providing concise information on the charity's programs, its spending and its funding reserves. The reports are designed to help Canadians become better informed about the charities they give to.
Today over 100,000 Canadians use Charity Intelligence’s website as a go-to source for information on Canadian charities and have downloaded over 124,000 charity reports.
