Thank You to the Colonel Sanders Charitable Trust

April 22, 2023
We are so grateful for the Colonel Sanders Charitable Trust’s generous gift of $100,000, one of the largest single donations FYFB has received to date. As visits have continued to soar month over month at the food bank, and we face higher food purchase costs, this support has been vital in helping us continue to provide nourishing groceries and hot meals for the 3,000 clients who visit us every week.

Happy Lunar New Year from FYFB & Join us for CNOY!

February 2, 2022
Happy Lunar New Year to our clients, volunteers and supporters who celebrate this special day! At FYFB, the festivities started on Saturday, with a special goody bag for clients filled with ginger, garlic, bok choy and clementines. Gatherings may still look a bit different this year, but however you’re celebrating, we wish you good health and happiness today and throughout the year ahead.

Help FYFB Feed the Hungry.

November 30, 2021
This #GivingTuesday, we need your support. Fort York Food Bank has seen a 23% increase in clients in recent months compared to the same period last year, and while we’re meeting the need, it’s getting more and more difficult every day as food prices rise.

Gong hei fat choy!

February 11, 2021
Happy Lunar New Year! Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new year for many of our clients and volunteers, and it’s bound to be a day filled with traditions, albeit ones that look very different. So to help our clients celebrate, we’ve put together special Lunar New Year packages filled with Chinese oranges — a symbol of luck and happiness — as well as garlic, ginger and green onions.

Happy Thanksgiving from FYFB!

October 9, 2021
It’s Thanksgiving weekend, and we are so thankful for you, our generous and caring donors, volunteers, clients and staff.

Even with plenty to be thankful for, the economic impact of the pandemic has continued to be deeply challenging for many people in our community. We are currently averaging 1,030 unique clients from 581 households every week—a 23% increase in unique weekly clients compared to last year.
